A whole half a yar has passed. I have been more active. I have completed the wedding quilt for my son and lovely daughter -in-law and it is ready for quilting. I will be sending it to a local quilt shop, Calico Station, to be quilted and then it will hang in QuiltFest before I give it to the newlyweds. I plan on posting a photo later. I used a variation of the "Opening Day" pattern and call the quilt "Wedding Day". The Bride, Fawn, used maroons, golds, oranges and browns (fall colors) in her wedding, and I used the same in the quilt. I even used a wonderful piece of fabric they picked up in Roswell, New Mexico during their trip across country they gave me for Christmas last year. This was the trip that celebrated Fawn getting out of the Navy and was also when Daniel proposed to Fawn. He had planned to propose to her on the pacific beach. He chose to d
o this at sunset. According to his telling, it did not go as planned, but was done at sunset on the beach in California. Fawn was totally surprised and thought it very romantic that he did that. They later purchased rings in Los Vegas on the way back.
o this at sunset. According to his telling, it did not go as planned, but was done at sunset on the beach in California. Fawn was totally surprised and thought it very romantic that he did that. They later purchased rings in Los Vegas on the way back. The wedding was held at a bed and breakfast in Saint Augustine, FL. The Christmas decorations were still up and everything was just beautiful! As you can see the wedding party was small as well as the guest list. The flower girl was the daughter of Fawn's friend, the Maid of Honor, and my oldest son, Jason, was the Best Man.
I also have another quilt published! Jennifer Chiaverini added my blue and white swap quilt to her new Sylvia's Bridal Sampler book. What a thrill to see it in print! It will be also displayed at QuiltFest this year.Until next time, hopefully it won't be so long, Keep stitching!
