Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all we have - Family, friends, good health, and still being able to pull a needle through fabric! I am looking forward to this Thanksgiving as I will be in Virginia to be with my parents and sibs. Mom said she would go shop hopping with me while I am there. I plan to stop at a couple of shops on the way. More fabric!!!!! Yipee! As we all know the stash keeps getting bigger and more varied. Quilts made with many, many fabrics are always more interesting to me than those made with one or two. I will be looking for neutrals and fall colors for a wedding quilt for my youngest son who is to wed a wonderful girl in the new year. They were to be married in large ceremony in October of 2009, but decided to make it sooner and have a smaller wedding to save money.

I haven't come up with a design yet. I am leaning toward the sawtooth star with flying geese and maybe a few falling leaves (a variation of the commercial pattern Opening Day). Someone suggested Crown of Thorns as a pattern because it forms hearts. My electric quilt program will let me experiment and play with design.
