Stormy Weather

Now that Fay has passed, it looks like there are going to be two more unwanted guests (Hannah and Ivan) coming our way. I spent the three days off work from Fay's fury quilting and catching up with my UFO's. I still have quite a pile yet to finish. But like the old elephant joke, I am taking one bite at a time and eventually will have them completed. Some may take longer than a day or two. I am trying to hand quilt my "Dear Jane" Quilt I started in 2001 and finished the top in 2004. The quilting is taking longer than I had planned. With me working full time and with so little spare time and the hot summer, maybe I'll get it done by 2010. Ha! I also have a top I am hand appliqueing called "Too Many Stars" I am not going to follow the pattern, but will have something similar. I don't even remember when I started that one. I am also working on my "Sylvia's Bridal Sampler". Getting quite a few blocks done. I only have 25 blocks left of the 140 before I start on the borders.

With all of the bad weather in the future, I will have plenty to do if the electricity goes out. I have lots of candles and other type lighting for storms. This should be like a step into the past. I know I will have a greater appreciation for those pioneer quilters.

Until next time, I'll be tackling the UFOs
